The Second Day
Continued Progress
This update consists of work done during this morning. Minor changes and experiments are included as listed below.
What's New?
- Camera system to follow player within inner bounds of the play space
- Player gravity and jump height tweaked with intent to decrease artificial difficulty
- Game aspect ratio changed to give them game a more arcade feeling
What's Next?
Throughout the rest of the day I intend to work more on tweaking player variables and addressing remaining generation issues. If time allows I will also implement some art assets to increase apparent production quality. Listed below in order of importance:
- Playability; tweaking variables for player movement and spawning
- Minor reworks of generation system
- Updated art assets
Developer Thoughts
Work is progressing well so far, and I haven't much to say for this update. I think the aspect ratio tweaks have done a great amount for the look/feel of the game, even in such a simple state, and variables seem to be moving in the right direction through playtesting. I will continue work and return for an update when there is enough to show.
Signing off,
Dylan Smith
